Q: Making an appointment

A: You can make an appointment by:

Q: Confidentiality

A: Confidentiality is an important part of the therapeutic process and we maintain impeccable standards when it comes to records and personal information. You safety is another primary concern; if you are at risk of harming yourself or somebody around you our Therapists will contact your GP or emergency contact.

As with all Mental Health Care Providers we are legally obliged to disclose information to the court if subpoenaed. Please advise us of any current or upcoming legal hearings.

Q: How long is the appointment?

A: Each appointment is generally 60 minutes, however please allow a few extra minutes for your initial session to complete your client registration and confidentiality paperwork.

Q: How can I cancel a session?

A: To cancel an appointment please contact us as soon as you know you’re unable to attend. Please note that a cancellation fee (50%) may apply if less than 24 hours’ notice to ensure availability of appointments for all clients.

Q: How often do I need to attend appointments?

A: The number of appointments you will attend depends on a variety of factors, such as the complexity of your presenting problem and your referral. This is something you will discuss with your Psychologist after one or two sessions.

Q: Where are we located ?

A: We currently offer appointments in Subiaco, within the offices of Pace National.

Q: Payment

A: Payment is required at the conclusion of each session. We have EFT or cash facilities and can process direct Medicare claims on site if your bank account details are registered with Medicare. Private Health Funds may cover some of the cost of sessions but it is a good idea to check with your fund prior to your first session as each level of cover is different.

Q: Accessing Medicare programs

A: The Medicare Better Access to Mental Healthcare Initiative allows Registered Psychologists and Clinical Psychologists to provide psychological therapies to clients referred by their GPs through a mental healthcare plan. Clients are entitled to 6-12 sessions with a therapist per annum, and the bulk of the cost is covered by Medicare. At Discover Wellbeing, we believe that everyone is entitled to access to mental health care. As such, we limit any out of pocket expenses our clients might incur above the Medicare rebate.

Q: Behaviour & Staff Safety Policy

A: At Discover Wellbeing, we provide you with the best possible psychological service, guided by codes of conduct and best practice principles.  We work to ensure a safe and supportive environment for both our clients and our staff so any explicit, aggressive or threatening language or behaviour will not be tolerated and we reserve the right to decline service should this occur.
